We are the department small organisations cannot afford to hire.
Bamburi Tech Center exists because a shop owner in Mtambo, a headteacher in Kisauni and an NGO coordinator in Nyali all need the same things — working computers, government paperwork, a reliable address and somewhere professional to sit — and none of them need a full-time IT department to get it.
From one printer to six counters
We opened with a printer, four machines and a fibre line, mostly serving students typing assignments. Within a year the queue changed: traders needed KRA PINs, a church needed its constitution scanned, a school needed twelve refurbished desktops it could pay for in instalments.
Rather than send people up and down the Mombasa–Malindi Road, we added a counter each time. The eCitizen desk came next, then hardware sales and leasing, then a licensed Posta LPO window so customers could hold a real mailbox address. The coworking floor and training room followed when freelancers started spending whole days with us.
Today the same team handles a 60-seat network migration and a KSh 50 printout with the same seriousness. That is deliberate.
Mission
Make good technology ordinary on the coast
Reliable machines, correctly filed government paperwork and honest advice should not be a Nairobi privilege or a big-company perk. We price and package so a solo trader and a 60-seat NGO can both walk in and be served properly.
